Pride

Surprisingly, the very first Avatar: The Last Airbender episode I've watched was the... finale on Cartoon Network. Yes, I watched the ending before everything else. However, despite not understanding what was even going on, I was in awe with the animation and I found myself wanting more. You can also know that during this time, I was instantly and aesthetically pleased with Zuko's character, but when I properly watched the series, was I ever surprised with his debut look!

Since Zuko from the finale and the Zuko from first book had such a contrasting design, it only fueled my curiosity to just keep learning about him. I felt that Zuko stood out from the rest of the vibrant lovable characters since his character developed throughout the series just as much as Aang. Despite his angry and stubborn demeanor, in the end he really was just a lost and confused boy who missed his mother dearly and was striving to gain his father's acceptance, and it doesn't help that I'm such a sucker for this type of characters.

During Book 2 of the series was a time when Zuko was just banished from his nation and for him, this became a period of rediscovering himself and deciding which path to take. Is he still trying to please his father? Or will he join Aang and the gang? I hope I did well interpreting this phase of Zuko. Enjoy!
